Creatures that lives in the sea is pack with nutrients that our body needs. It contains Vitamin B2 which helps to reduce nerve inflammation and Vitamin D to make sure our bones and muscle stay strong.

Want your brain and heart to be healthy? Most fish are rich in Omega-3.  Which helps to lower blood pressure and risk of heart attack. May help in decrease the feeling of depression, ADAH, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia and diabetes. It also helps in preventing inflammation and reduce the risk of arthritis.

Plus, a huge boost to infant if you eat fish during pregnancy. It helps infant to develop good vision and nerves, and a healthy brain functions.

You also get minerals from eating fish which include, iodine, iron, magnesium, potassium, selenium and zinc.

Here are the 5 reasons why you should eat more fish:

 

1) Eating fish may help in improving sleep quality

As sleeping disorder has become much more common in today’s era. Which is cause by the lack of Vitamin D that a person’s need in a day. Plus, the long hours of us looking at our tech gadget screen cause us to have increased exposure to blue light. Which leads us to be lack of Vitamin D. 

A 6 month experiment study which have 95 middle-aged man participate in this study. They were instructed to eat a meal with salmon, 3 times per week. This led to an improvement to those participants in both sleeping and daily function.

 

2) May help to protect vision during old age

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) which will cause vision impairment and blindness mostly affects older adults.

Some studies suggests that Omega-3 fatty acid may help older adults protect from AMD.

In 2012, a study was conduct how eating fish can help protect women from AMD. This study shows that women who regular have fish intake have 42% lower risk in AMD.

Another study in 2008, shows how fish intake can affect AMD. The study found out that eating fish once per week help reduce the risk of neovascular. 

 

3) May help children prevent asthma 

Asthma is a common worldwide disease which is chronic inflammation of airways.

The number of cases of asthma has increase over the past few decades. 

It also lower 24% of the risk of asthma in children.

 

4) May reduce the risk of autoimmune diseases

Studies has shown that eating omega-3 or fish oil helps to lower the risk of Type 1 diabetes in both children and adults.

The omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin D  helps combats the problems cause by Type 1 diabetes.

 

5) A good dietary sources of vitamin D

According to a study in 2022, involving male and female teachers in Kuala Lumpur. The study shows that 87% of women suffered vitamin D compared to 41% of men. 

The reasons is that the practices of sun avoidant lifestyles which include wearing long covered clothing to cover up the parts of “aurat”.

Another reasons is one of the life stages happen to women in older age, menopause. 

It was show that 71.3% of malay women and 12.2% of chinese women have deficiency in vitamin D from two major cities.

According to South East Asian Nutrition Survey (SEANUTS), conduct a survey in Malaysia from 2010 to 2011 which involved 3542 children age 4 to 12. It reveal that 54.1% of female and 41.1% of male lacks in vitamin D. 

If you can’t get sunlight through sunbathing, then intake more fish. Fish is rich in vitamin D and the best source to get your daily boost of vitamin D. 

Fish like salmon or herring contain the highest amount of vitamin D.

If you don’t get much sun and don’t eat fatty fish often. then, you might want to consider to take vitamin D supplements.

A wonderful high quality protein source that is access to all. Pack with heart healthy omega-3 fatty acids. Plus, it has so many wonderful benefits for both children and adults alike. Additionally, it helps to protect visions and improve your sleep schedule and health.
